Why Placenta/Stem Cell Therapy?

The effects of the implantation of term human placenta have been known for more than 25 years in Europe , but there were very few ways to explain  the results of it until recently that the content of the placenta was discovered. They not only found the HGH and IGF-I but many more hormones, growth factors and powerful immune system substances (listed below) that would explain the healthy, fast and amazing results that are achieved with this therapy. And to even try to replace them one by one would be terribly expensive and almost impossible to get in the same "package" as the placenta organ.

Here is a list of the substances that have been found in the placenta tissue at the term of the pregnancy along with the function.  The presence of these substances and their function is well documented,  especially by the Placenta International Journal, a very scientific and serious magazine that publishes all discoveries about Human Placenta every two months:

The Placenta has numerous Neuropeptides: Vasoactive Intestinal Polypeptide (VIP), Calcitonin Gene-related Peptide (CGRP), Somatostatin,Mmet-enkephaline, Helodermin and Substance P-like, Endothelin-1, Eritrophyotin (for bone marrow stimulation) and many more.

Some of these substances have been recently produced by international labs like HGH for longevity purposes  and recently Tumor Necrosis Factor was synthesized to treat some cancers. Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor is also been used for the the therapy of angina pectoris. Interferon has been used for a while to treat patients of Hepatitis C.

As you can see Biological Products are having a tremendous impact in Medical care and they are a source of political issues, especially the stem cells from the embryo, given the moral and ethical implications.

It is now of common medical knowledge that the use of umbilical cord blood for the treatment of leukemia or lymphoma, replaces in some cases the bone marrow transplantation because of the content of stem cells contained in it. In 2001, an American company discovered that the human full term placenta has 10 times more the amount of stem cells than the blood of the umbilical cord. This is a wonderful breakthrough because we don't really need to kill an embryo in order to get the stem cells.

The Placenta comes after  a beautiful and healthy baby was born through a cesarean section in order for the placenta not to be contaminated with bacteria from the normal vaginal path.
